Taru Stool: Handcrafted from solid teak wood with branch legs, Ø 34 cm, height approx. 45 cm
The Taru stool showcases the beauty of natural wood in its most original form. The round seat with a diameter of 34 cm rests on a unique frame made of untreated teak wood branches, carefully connected by hand. No piece is alike – each stool is an individual work of art with its own character. With a height of about 45 cm, the Taru is perfect as a stool, side table, or stylish home accessory.
“Taru” – The Root of Design
In Balinese, “Taru” means tree – a name that does justice to this stool. The frame made of branches tells stories of growth, wind, and weather, symbolizing the vitality of nature. In Bali, branches are not simply regarded as waste but as valuable, living elements that become visible with this piece of furniture.
Traditional Craftsmanship Meets Nature
In the workshops around Tabanan, only branches that have naturally fallen or have been intentionally cut are used for the Taru stool. The careful selection, sanding, and manual connection of the branches create a harmonious and stable construction. The design is completed by the solid, round seat made of teak wood – warm in tone, robust, and with an expressive grain.
