Its name is inspired by the Lontar palm, which holds special cultural significance in Bali and stands for durability and valuable natural materials. With a height of about 80 cm and its detailed design in earthy medium brown, this lamp is much more than a light source – it is an artistic decorative piece that reflects traditional craftsmanship and a connection to nature. Lontara – The Heart of the Palm as a Light Source
The Lontar palm is deeply rooted in Balinese culture and symbolizes tropical life, stability, and valuable materials. Traditionally, sacred texts were even recorded on dried palm leaves. Our Lontara palm lamp embraces this significance: the trunk and leaves are made from natural palm leaf fibers and wood, finished in a rich dark brown that recalls the earth and tree bark.
The cream-colored light globe in the palm crown is created through a traditional process: a balloon is wrapped with fine threads and natural glue until a stable, translucent shell is formed. After drying, the balloon is removed, leaving a light, almost floating globe that emits a warm and inviting light. With the Lontara, you bring the tranquility of tropical evenings and the soul of Bali into your home.

Each leaf is carefully selected, dried, and shaped, ensuring that no two pieces are alike. The individual structure tells its own story.
Although the family business is small, it is filled with passion and skill. When the evening sun shines into the open workshop and the warm light of the lamps shines, we enjoy having a cup of tea together. Our time in Bali is enriched not only by the light of these artworks but also by the encounters with these wonderful people.
