Laras Table Lamp made of Handcrafted Palm Leaves, Walnut Brown, approx. 30 cm high
Imagine elegantly shaped palm leaves wrapping around a bright thread bulb, spreading warm, soft light. The Laras table lamp is a small work of art that brings the natural beauty of Bali into your home. The name "Laras" means "harmonious" in Indonesian and aptly describes the flowing, balanced design of this lamp.
Two carefully shaped palm leaves have been lovingly hand-bent to embrace the cream-colored thread bulb, which emits a gentle, diffused light. The warm walnut brown of the leaves with visible grain contrasts beautifully with the bright light source. The dark wooden base, adorned with a delicate sisal ribbon, harmoniously completes the natural appearance.
The Laras Table Lamp is more than just a light source – it conveys tranquility and brings a touch of Balinese grace into your living spaces. The lamp is delivered without electrical parts such as socket, cable, or light bulb, allowing you to choose the lighting according to your taste (maximum 25 watts). Installation should be carried out by a professional.
Harmony as a Life Philosophy – The Meaning of Laras in Bali
In Bali, "Laras" stands for harmony – a central principle that describes the coexistence of humanity, nature, and spirituality. This balance is reflected in the artistic ceremonies, the sounds of the Gamelan orchestras, and the design of the fascinating landscape with its rice terraces. The Laras table lamp captures this spirit with its flowing design and brings a piece of Balinese joy into your home.
The Special Material – Palm Leaves as Cultural Heritage of Bali
Palms shape the landscape of Bali and are closely tied to the culture. Their leaves are traditionally used for roofs, baskets, and artistic decorations. For lamp production, the robust yet flexible palm leaves are carefully selected, dried, and shaped. Their natural texture and warm coloring give the lamp its unique character.

Background on the Manufacture – Terang Karya
We regularly visit the small workshop on the outskirts of Ubud, where Nyoman and his wife Ketut skillfully and passionately transform palm leaves into unique lamps. Each leaf is carefully selected, dried, and hand-shaped. No two pieces are alike – each tells its own story through structure and color.
Although the family business is small, each lamp is infused with a lot of heart and skill. When the evening sun falls into the open workshop and merges with the warm lamp light, we enjoy the time over a cup of tea. These encounters make our Bali trip unforgettable – not just because of the light, but because of the people behind it.
Handcrafted and Uniqueness
Each Laras Table Lamp is lovingly handcrafted in Bali. Since palm leaves are a natural product, the shape, color, and grain vary from lamp to lamp. This makes each lamp an individual piece with its own harmonious radiance.
