Kasih Candle Holder: Two Glass Bowls on Natural Root Wood, 30 cm
Our Kasih Candle Holder impresses with the combination of flowing molten glass and natural root wood – each piece is a distinctive one-of-a-kind. Kasih means affection and perfectly describes how the glass gently embraces the organic structure of the root, forming a harmonious unity with it. With space for two candles, the candle holder provides a warm, inviting light in your home. You decide where this special piece will shine.
Balinese Glass Art – The Connection of Fire and Wood
In Bali, craftsmanship is a deep connection to nature and a play of elements. Melting glass on root wood is an impressive example of this tradition.
This technique requires much experience and a delicate touch: The glass is heated until it becomes liquid and luminous. Then, the hot glass mass is carefully poured onto the root wood, where it fits into every natural depression and shape and slowly hardens. After cooling, the glass is carefully ground and polished, resulting in a clear, shiny effect. The result is a unique piece of art that can never be exactly replicated.

Merchant Note
Manik Rupa – A special shop with a moving story: The owner is around 70 years old and is almost single-handedly preserving the glass art tradition. Unfortunately, there are hardly any successors, making it increasingly difficult for him to keep the craft alive.
His artworks consist of various vessels and spheres made of glass, artfully melted onto sometimes imposing roots. The combination of root wood and glass art is fascinating, and I can rarely resist shopping for the Bali Dreams Selection here. Hopefully, this tradition will be preserved for a long time!
Handmade Note
Each Kasih Candle Holder is created with careful handwork. Natural materials and the traditional melting technique lead to individual differences in shape and structure – an authentic feature of Balinese craftsmanship.
