“Gajah” – A Symbol of Wisdom and Strength
Our elephant wall decoration
Gajah captures the gentle yet powerful aura of this highly revered animal in Bali. Carefully hand-carved from solid Albesia wood, it combines traditional craftsmanship with an impressive presence. The dark, warm brown of the wood provides the perfect backdrop for the
intricate white dot painting that artistically adorns the mask. Every detail – from the large, calm ears to the elegantly curved trunk – has been crafted with great precision, giving the mask an expression of tranquility and wisdom.
The Gajah – Balinese Symbol of Protection
Although elephants are not native to Bali, they play a significant role in the local culture. As the mount of the gods and the embodiment of the wise god
Ganesha, the
Gajah is considered sacred. It represents happiness, strength, long life, and the overcoming of obstacles. Having an elephant wall mask in your home traditionally means more than mere decoration – it is seen as a protective guardian that promotes peace, prosperity, and positive energy. With the
Gajah Elephant Wall Decoration, you bring this powerful symbol of Balinese spirituality into your home and remind yourself of the values that this majestic animal represents.
Traditional Balinese Craftsmanship
Creating this mask requires much dedication and craftsmanship. After being carefully carved from Albesia wood, the mask receives a dark brown base coat that highlights the natural grain. The special touch comes from the elaborate handwork: countless small white dots and lines are applied with a fine tool. This demanding dot painting forms the traditional patterns that adorn the forehead, ears, and trunk of the elephant, giving it its distinctive, noble appearance.

Merchant Note
